Felt Birdhouses

These birdhouses are fun and easy to knit Display one by itself or group several together. Either way they will add cheerful accent to any room in your house.

Finished size: In bulky weight yarn as shown, 11" (13") tall and 5" in diameter at base.

Yarn Requirements: Choose a bulky weight yarn that will felt easily and firmly. Approximately 120 (150) yards for birdhouse base and 75 (100) yards for roof.

Other Supplies: 6 stitches markers (2 colors, 3 each); tapestry needle; a few yards of strong carpet thread; 1 twig for perch.

Optional: 1 sheet of black plastic canvas to stabilize base.

Needles: 16" (40cm) size 13 (9 mm) circular needles. A set of 4 double pointed needles in the same size.
